They Called, We Answered

By Julianne Micallef

Across February, March and April, Ray White Kurrajong and Windsor offices vowed to show their support for our country cousins doing it tough by supporting the Buy A Bale campaign.

“Although we have received much rain over the past few weeks, the drought is literally destroying our rural communities. The NSW / QLD border region is now a wasteland, it’s literally another world out there” says principal of Ray White Kurrajong and Windsor offices, Peter Chidgey.

The Kurrajong and Windsor teams set a goal of raising 200 bales in total and blew it out of the water after just 7 weeks raising a total of 200 bales of hay.

The total raised by the Ray White Kurrajong and Windsor Teams together with the generous donations of Hawkesbury residents was $5,243.90. This donation was made directly to Buy A Bale on the 30th of March and now forms part of the $2.4 million donated to over 1500 farmers in the last 18 months.

“Initially it struck the heart strings of our employees, many living on acreage supporting livestock and horses themselves. We spread the word throughout our tight knit community and as a result were inundated with support and donations flooding through our doors.”

“We saw an opportunity to make a difference and now we can say that together with the Hawkesbury community we have” said marketing officer, Julianne Nunn.

Buy A Bale now has a national “Buy A Bale” day to be held on the 25th of March each year. The focus of the initiative to raise 50,000 bales as well as much needed funds for continued support of our farmers.
